Invicta FC finally returned to action on June 28, 2024 with Invicta FC 55, culminating in a bantamweight title fight.

The all-female fight promotion led by president Shannon Knapp hasn’t been seen since 2023, and rumors of their demise have swirled in recent months. Knapp, however, had other plans and Invicta now returns with a new American broadcast partner in CBS Sports Network, which briefly hosted Bellator MMA a few years ago.

For Invicta FC 55, the promotion is back to familiar territory, with the event set up in the confines of Memorial Hall in St. Louis, MO. Headlining the bill was former UFC fighter turned Invicta bantamweight champion Talita Bernardo, making her first title defense against former Bellator MMA women’s featherweight Olga Rubin.

In 2019, Rubin challenged then-champion Julia Budd for the Bellator belt, but came up short. She moved to Invicta FC in 2022, losing a title shot to Taneisha Tennant before posting back-to-back wins over Serena DeJesus and Claire Guthrie.

Also on the bill is the return of UFC alumnus Kay Hansen.
