‘Belltown Hellcat’ has to appear in court again for assaulting his mother

SEATTLEMiles Hudson, known in the Seattle area as the “Belltown Hellcat,” was back in Renton court Monday in connection with a 2023 conviction for assaulting his mother.

During Monday’s hearing, Hudson’s public defender and the judge agreed to a continuation of his case, meaning Hudson’s new court hearing is now scheduled for later next month.

Hudson was originally scheduled to appear on October 14 on the same charges. However, he did not appear in court because he was in the King County Jail for separate, unrelated crimes such as stalking and revenge porn.

Because he failed to appear in court, a Renton judge issued a $50,000 court order. This warrant was confirmed when police arrested Hudson in the parking garage of his apartment building about two weeks later.

Hudson was held at the South Correctional Entity Jail (SCORE) before being released and returned to home confinement for his two criminal cases in Seattle, involving stalking, revenge porn and reckless driving.

Last year, Hudson pleaded guilty to knocking his mother to the ground during an altercation because she refused to make him coffee, according to court documents obtained by FOX 13 Seattle.

Although he was sentenced to a year in prison, Hudson served only two days under the condition that he follow the court’s instructions – a suspended sentence that required him not to break any law and to attend all hearings.

At a hearing in Renton in June, the judge warned Hudson that no further adjournment would be granted and ordered him to return to court no later than August 5. Hudson acknowledged the instructions but did not appear at the scheduled hearing.

“The city is seriously concerned about the risk Mr. Hudson poses to the community given his failure to comply with the terms of the court and his outstanding warrants for his arrest in another jurisdiction,” the Renton city attorney said.

Hudson is expected to appear in court in Seattle later this month.
