Welcome to our special segment, DRS or the Daily Review System. InsideSport will provide you with the best cricket stories from the previous day that you might have missed in the hustle and bustle of your busy lives.

We waited and waited for the BCCI to announce India’s squad for the white-ball series against Sri Lanka. However, it seems that the announcement will come on Thursday (July 18). However, there have been mixed reports on which group of players India will include and who will be rested. However, the biggest buzz was who will be appointing Gautam Gambhir as captain in T20Is. With Rohit Sharma pulling out of the format, the BCCI should lock in their next permanent captain and take a long-term view of the 2026 T20 World Cup.

BCCI denies Gautam Gambhir yet?

Gautam Gambhir, India’s new head coach, is already facing resistance from the BCCI over his coaching staff choices. Gambhir’s wishes are not fully supported by the board. Ryan ten Doeschate’s proposal as fielding coach received a lukewarm response and Morne Morkel was also rejected as a potential bowling coach.

Gambhir chooses Suryakumar over Pandya?

When Rohit Sharma took a rest from Team India’s T20 matches, we knew that Hardik Pandya would take over the captaincy duties. In fact, he was considered as the permanent captain after Hitman retired. However, reports say that there is a high possibility that not Pandya but Suryakumar Yadav will lead India in T20Is against Sri Lanka. While SKY has led India a couple of times, it may not be a wise decision.
