Bandai Namco Announces First-Ever Dragon Ball Z MOBA Game

Bandai Namco has announced the first-ever team-based free-to-play Dragon Ball Z MOBA game: Dragon Ball Project: Multi.

Developed by One Piece World Seeker developer Ganbarion, Dragon Ball Project: Multi is a top-down action RTS game featuring 4v4 battles where players must utilize the abilities of heroes to turn the tide of battle. Such heroes include Goku, Vegeta, Future Trunks, Piccolo, Krillin, Android 18, and Majin Buu. It will also feature villains from Dragon Ball mythology such as Cooler from Dragon Ball Z and Zamasu and Vermoud from Dragon Ball Super.

According to his official websiteThe game will be playable on Google Play, the App Store, and Steam. Along with the reveal of Dragon Ball Project: Multi, the company also announced its regional beta test, which will run from August 20 to September 3.

Like any MOBA, Dragon Ball Project: Multi requires players to conquer enemy objectives by organizing a well-rounded team consisting of tanks, supports, and damage characters. The game also features customization options, allowing players to change skins, entrances, and finisher animations. Since Dragon Ball Project: Ulti is primarily focused on online matches, players must be connected to the internet to play.

Dragon Ball fans seem to be experiencing something of a renaissance with the upcoming return of the Budokai series in Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero. In our preview, we praised the game for its fights that felt like they were ripped straight from the anime, saying, “Even after just a dozen matches against the CPU, it’s clear to me that Dragon Ball superfans who are exceptionally good at fighting games – or who plan to practice a lot with Sparking Zero – are going to have a blast crushing their competitors.”

Considering we’re still roughly nine weeks away from Sparking! Zero’s October 11 release, Dragon Ball Project: Multi has the latent potential to be a refreshing new game for players to test their Z-fighter combat senses.
