Australian all-rounder Tom Rogers signs for Kent Spitfires’ T20 Blast South group stage

An Australian all-round bowler will be available for Kent Spitfires’ remaining six Vitality T20 Blast South group matches.

Tom Rogers, 30, has played 49 T20 matches in his career so far, taking 60 wickets at an average of 24.78.

He has seven years of experience playing in Australia’s premier domestic T20 competition – the KFC Big Bash League – with the likes of Hobart Hurricane and Melbourne Renegades. His current career-best T20 figures of 5-16 come against Melbourne Stars in January 2023.

Rogers throws with his right arm at a medium to fast pace and hits with his left hand. He has a batting average of over 100.00 and a bowling average of 17.73.

Rogers will be available for Kent Spitfires’ next T20 match at Gloucestershire tomorrow.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to play in the Vitality Blast and I am excited to join Kent,” he said.

“We know that every match is crucial for us now and I want to do my part to deliver results as a Spitfire in the near future.”

Director of Cricket Simon Cook added: “We are delighted to have brought Tom on board to secure our bowling options for the ‘business end’ of this group stage in the south.

“He has a lot of experience and skills that will come in handy with both the ball and the bat.”

Other overseas players Kent have already used this summer include Australian bowlers Xavier Bartlett and Wes Agar, and South African all-rounder Beyers Swanepoel.
