Aston Villa contacted by agent of 45-time international available for free

The English transfer market may be closed, but Aston Villa’s work isn’t over yet.

Villa were extremely busy during the summer market, with Moussa Diaby and Douglas Luiz sold for huge fees, while Amadou Onana, Ian Maatsen, Ross Barkley and Jaden Philogene came the other way.

Unai Emery has been excellent at the Midlands club so far, guiding them to fourth place last season, meaning they can look forward to a Champions League campaign.

Aston Villa approached by Yazici agent

Aston Villa are among the clubs approached by Yusuf Yazici’s agent, according to a report from HITC.

The 27-year-old is without a club after leaving Lille on a free transfer last summer, and his agents are doing everything they can to find him a new home.

HITC reports that in addition to Villa, other Premier League clubs including Manchester United, Newcastle United, Wolves, Southampton, Fulham, West Ham and Tottenham have also spoken to Yazici’s agent.

However, Turkish Galatasaray are currently the favourites for his signature, which would see the 45-times international return to his homeland.

Yazici, who made two appearances at Euro 2024 this summer, last played in Turkey on loan from Lille, back at his boyhood club Trabzonspor, during the 2022/23 season.

The attacker scored 12 goals and provided 42 assists in 42 games in all competitions for Lille last season.

Yazici also helped Lille to the 2020-21 Ligue 1 title, the last time it was won by a team other than Paris Saint-Germain.
