Assistant Coach Men’s Basketball – Allan Hancock College

Allan Hancock College is accepting applications for Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach/Part-Time Faculty Member. This part-time faculty position is in the College’s Athletic/Kinesiology Department and reports to the Head Men’s Basketball coach, along with the Associate Dean/Athletic Director, Kinesiology, Recreation, & Athletics.

The candidate will assist in developing and coordinating the intercollegiate basketball program; train and coach the team in preparation for intercollegiate competition; maintain and maintain records and equipment as needed; work within the scope of athletic policy under the supervision of the head coach; recruit and evaluate potential basketball student-athletes and encourage their enrollment at Allan Hancock College; and oversee the preparation of a competitive basketball schedule. This position requires days, evenings, or weekends. This position may be eligible to teach part-time and must meet the minimum qualifications for a Kinesiology/Athletics faculty member. The anticipated start date is August 2024.

The official must be available to perform weekly sporting event staff responsibilities as needed, throughout multiple sporting seasons. This may include keeping score, taking tickets, organizing students, or other sporting event staff responsibilities as assigned.

Essential Functions and Qualifications

Experience coaching competitive basketball, able to perform minimal administrative duties. Eligible to drive campus vehicles.
