Arsenal defender’s career at the club is over after latest development

Arsenal have made a major decision regarding the future of one of their players, or so it seems judging by what they have done.

The Gunners have signed David Raya permanently this summer, along with defender Riccardo Calafiori from Bologna.

Further signings are expected to be made to the club shortly, but for now the focus is on offloading players who no longer feature in manager Mikel Arteta’s plans.

One of those players is left-back Kieran Tierney, who spent some time away from the club on loan last season.

However, his future at the Emirates Stadium is uncertain with Calafiori, Jurrien Timber, Oleksandr Zinchenko and Takehiro Tomiyasu all ahead of him in the pecking order for the left-back position.

According to talkSPORT, the Scottish left-back’s career at the club is over after he was completely left out of the squad for the friendly against Bayer Leverkusen.

He has been dropped from the club’s matchday programme, indicating the club no longer consider him part of their future plans and that he could be allowed to leave this summer.

He is currently injured, but according to talkSPORT, players are not being left off the squad list completely even if they are injured.

Kieran Tierney has no future at Arsenal.

It was a big surprise that Kierney was not on the team’s competition schedule.

Last season he was loaned to Real Sociedad, but others have taken his place in the starting line-up.

With Arteta further strengthening the left side of his defence this summer with the arrival of Calafiori, Tierney has found himself further removed from the starting line-up at the Emirates Stadium.

Kieran Tierney should consider Arsenal exit

It’s time for Tierney to leave the Emirates Stadium and make a fresh start elsewhere.

His career at Arsenal was affected by a number of serious injuries, but when fully fit he performed well for the Gunners.

The North Londoners will be hoping that buyers will emerge for the left-back as the player is not getting enough playing time at the club and there is no point in keeping him just to stay on the bench as there is already enough depth in his position.
