Three Italian clubs are reportedly interested in signing Arsenal defender Takehiro Tomiyasu.

The Japanese defender joined the Gunners from Bologna in 2021, but struggled with injuries during his time at the Emirates.

He has never had a regular place in Mikel Arteta’s starting line-up despite being popular with fans, and according to The Sun, the team’s manager has already accepted that he could lose him in January.

Inter are believed to be the frontrunners in the race for Tomiyasu, who has not played this season due to a knee injury.

The report suggests that Tomiyasu is Inter’s leading candidate, but the company could face competition from Serie A rivals Napoli and Juventus.

Tomiyasu has made 83 appearances for Arsenal and is a valuable member of the squad when fit thanks to his versatility.

The club strengthened its defence last summer with the arrival of Riccardo Calafiori, while Jurrien Timber is now fully fit again.

It seems that Tomiyasu’s playing time will be limited once he fully recovers, and a move could make sense for both parties.

According to The Sun, Arsenal will demand around £25m if they let him go.
