Martin Odegaard is likely to miss a large part of the season after injuring his ankle during an international match with Norway last week.

The Arsenal captain has been ruled out for 10 games after a recent MRI scan revealed serious ligament injuries.

According to a recent report from HITC, the 25-year-old could be ready in time for the match against Chelsea on November 10, but the Gunners could also opt to delay his return.

Arsenal could delay Martin Odegaard’s return due to injury

Mikel Arteta does not want to bring Odegaard back too soon and, although disappointed with his captain’s injury, is convinced that his team can manage without the Norwegian until December. He can therefore give him an extra two weeks of rehabilitation.

Should Odegaard’s return be delayed until December, the midfielder could make his first return appearance in a home game against Manchester United (December 3).

The Red Devils are also expecting to welcome back one of their players for the Arsenal clash. Summer signing Leny Yoro, who is recovering from a broken metatarsal, has reportedly ‘told friends and team-mates’ that he hopes he will be fit enough to feature in December’s clash against the Emirates.
