Arsenal and Chelsea rejected by 26-year-old ace who joined their rivals this summer

Arsenal and Chelsea are reportedly keen to sign Federico Chiesa from Juventus this summer.

According to a report from TBR Football, the Italy international turned down the chance to join the London club in favor of a move to Liverpool. He completed a €15 million transfer to the Premier League club yesterday and the Italian will be looking to get started in the Premier League.

He was considered one of the best young attacking talents in the world when he helped Italy win the European Championship. However, his development was halted due to injury problems. The player now seems to have overcome his injury problems and will try to get back to his best.

He had an impressive season at Juventus last year, scoring 10 goals in all competitions. Liverpool need to add more quality and depth to their attacking unit and signing the 26-year-old could prove to be a wise decision.

Italy forward #14 Federico Chiesa makes a gesture during the UEFA Euro 2024 Group B football match between Italy and Albania at BVB Stadium in Dortmund on June 15, 2024.

Arsenal and Chelsea wanted Federico Chiesa

Meanwhile, his decision to turn down a move to Arsenal and Chelsea will come as a blow to them. He was available for a bargain, and he could have been a good addition.

Chelsea need to bring in a quality winger, especially with players like Raheem Sterling expected to leave before the deadline. The Blues need more quality and creativity from the wide areas.

On the other hand, Arsenal need a versatile winger who will help them rotate the likes of Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli. The Italian would have been a good signing for both clubs and it remains to be seen whether they can bring in any good alternatives before the transfer window closes later today.
