Arjun Atwal’s spectacular rise in Senior Open

Indian golfer Arjun Atwal shot to third place in the Senior Open with an impressive 5-under 67 in the third round.

After a challenging start with a 3-under 75 on the first day, Atwal recovered dramatically and delivered a series of great performances, including a 4-under 68 on the second day and a 5-under 67 on the third day.

Atwal’s total score of six under par puts him just two strokes behind current leader KJ Choi of South Korea and one stroke behind second-placed Australian Richard Green. The final round promises to be intense competition with 18 holes remaining.

Atwal is notably the only Indian to ever win on the PGA Tour, a feat he achieved in 2010. His latest performance has revived hopes of an Indian victory in a senior major.

Jeev Milkha Singh is tied at 52nd position, while Jyoti Randhawa and Daniel Chopra missed the cut.
