Another leak points to Red Dead Redemption release on PC

Even after multiple leaks, Rockstar still hasn’t officially announced Red Dead Redemption for PC. However, a new leak suggests it’s still in the cards.

According to Twitter user TezFunz2, Rockstar accidentally added the metadata for the first Red Dead Redemption game on PC to the new launcher update. Additionally, the game has reportedly appeared in Steam’s database, indicating that the PC version will also be released on that platform.

Rumors of a PC port began when TezFunz2 posted a screenshot that they claimed was taken from a Rockstar launcher site file describing the game. There were also several other leaks pointing to a PC release, including an Epic Games Store database leak, and it was briefly mentioned on PlayStation Network.

Red Dead Redemption first released for Xbox 360 and PS3 in 2010, and received modern ports for Switch and PS4 in 2023. The sequel received a PC port in 2019, so it’s high time its predecessor did the same.

In GameSpot’s Red Dead Redemption review, we wrote, “This stunning Wild West epic raises the bar for open-world action games and stakes a claim as one of the most compelling games of the year.”
