Andrew Garfield would play Spider-Man again

After playing supporting roles in films, Andrew Garfield gained worldwide recognition for following in Tobey Maguire’s footsteps in Sony’s reboot of their Spider-Man films. However, like Maguire, Garfield never completed his series, with both Spider-Man 4 and Amazing Spider-Man 3 shelved in favor of the wall-crawler joining Marvel Studios. Although Maguire has donned his costume for good, Garfield would suit up again if the timing was right.

Speaking to Esquire while promoting his upcoming A24 film We Live in Time, the Oscar-nominated actor said that his return for Spider-Man: No Way Home felt therapeutic in itself, and felt like he was once again taking on the web could use shooters. .

“I would 100 percent come back if it was the right thing, if it adds something to the culture, if there is a great concept or something that hasn’t been done before, that is unique, strange and exciting, and that you can sink your teeth into “, he said. “I love that character and it brings joy. If part of what I bring is joy, then I am happy in return.”

Although fans are still a few years away from the next Tom Holland Spider-Man adventure, Garfield insists the collaboration was a one-off and currently has no plans to return to that side of Spider-Man.

“I mean, like the internet is a big place,” Garfield said in September. “I think there are a lot of people who will just say anything to get clicks. So maybe you’ve been duped, I’m afraid.”

We Live in Time hits theaters on October 11 and became a meme sensation thanks to a carousel horse on the film poster.
