All Chapter 1 bosses in Black Myth Wukong

Bull protector

Aside from the opening tutorial boss, the Bullguard is the first real boss you’ll encounter in Black Myth: Wukong. It’s a mandatory boss fight that blocks your path, and you’ll gain the time-bending Immobilize ability during the encounter to help you out.

Wandering Wight

I would say the Wandering Wight is the hardest boss in Chapter 1. It’s probably the second boss you’ll face, but it probably won’t be the second boss you beat. It’s Wukongs version of The Ring of Elden Tree keeper or Star Wars Jedi: Survivor’s Resentment – come back to it later if you are having trouble with it.

Guangzhi

Guangzhi is a boss you can’t miss in Black Myth: Wukongbut one you have to face get the Red Tides SpellInstead of fighting the Wandering Wight (or running past it), you move in a straight line away from it Forest of Wolves: Outside the Forest Sanctuaryand you hear Guangzhi talking as you get closer to the boss arena.

Lingxuzi

After the Bullguard, Lingxuzi is the next mandatory boss fight. The majestic white bastard is a fast and ferocious enemy that likes to dart around the arena, but is weak to the Red Tide Spell obtained by defeating Guangzhi.

Baw-Li-Guhh-Lang

The bosses come thick and fast in Game Science’s action title. Baw-Li-Guhh-Lang is one of several optional fights, and requires you to venture off the beaten path shortly after the Bamboo Grove: Snake Trail Shrine. From the rest point, follow the natural path forward until you descend a hill—past two flaming pots—and instead of continuing straight ahead, jump into the water to your right and venture further into the arena.

Guangmou

Another unmissable fight is Guangmou, and he is a tough test. Facing him is a given, and you should have gathered enough skills, abilities, and experience to defeat this main story boss.

White-robed nobleman

Oh boy, I can imagine the Whiteclad Noble boss giving a lot of players grief. While the moveset isn’t too complicated, this mandatory story boss is the first two phase battleit’s fast and doesn’t let you get away from it. Be patient with this one.

Black Wind King

Black Myth: Wukong has a lot of bosses, but I’m sure you’ve guessed this by now. The Black Wind King is up next and also unavoidable. Be wary of his invisibility, as he hides a litany of attacks thanks to his frequent disappearing act.

Black bear Guai

The final boss in Black Myth: Wukong Chapter one is Black Bear Guai. The fight has a Lingxuzi feel to it, only it’s much tougher, and once you anger Black Bear Guai by losing enough of his health, his moveset becomes more aggressive and he becomes more fiery (literally).

Red Loong

Red Loong is a challenging optional boss encounter in Chapter 1. You have the Loong scales to access this fight, which you get by squeezing through a crack in the First Prince of Flowing Sands boss arena in Chapter Two.

After you have the Loong Scales, go back to the Outside the forest Shrine in Chapter 1. Continue left and you’ll come across a flowing waterfall that you can clear with the Loong Scales to access a secret area with Red Loong.

Lang-Li-Guhh-Baw

That’s right, the boss whose name you probably can’t pronounce is back for round two. This time he’s in a murky pond at the beginning of chapter two. He doesn’t really fight, so you shouldn’t have any trouble defeating him.

Second Rat Prince & King of the Flowing Sand

This is the first major boss encounter in Chapter Two. The King of Flowing Sands stands on the pillars and throws projectiles at you, while the Second Rat Prince attacks you in a melee. I found that the easiest way to defeat the boss was to ignore the king and defeat the Second Rat Prince, because this way you avoid phase two.

The First Prince of Flowing Sands is an optional boss encounter in a cave in Sandgate Village, shortly after the Valley of Despair Shrine. He lets the Arhat Golden Piecewhich you need to complete the Drunken Pig questline to open the door to the optional Fuban boss. You can also use the Loong scales by squeezing through a crack near the boss arena, causing Red Loong in Chapter One and Black Loong in Chapter Two.

Mother of Stones

The Mother of Stones is an easy optional boss in Shelter from showers. You must defeat the Stone Mother to free the Man-in-Stone merchant, who sells the Sobering Stone (which you give to the drunken boar). This boss doesn’t attack you, instead you must kill waves of stone-headed enemies while chipping away at the Mother’s health bar.

Tiger Vanguard

The Tiger Vanguard is one of the toughest bosses in Chapter Two, and he’s not optional. You’ll find him in a giant pool of blood in Crouching Tiger Temple. Defeating him will grant you the Sharpness of Tiger an important item you need to open the Tally Gates in Chapter Two.

The Stone Vanguard is a gigantic rock feature that guards the way forward, shortly after the Rockrest flat Shrine. He has a lot of heavy smash attacks and AoE abilities, but if you made it this far, the Stone Vanguard shouldn’t be a problem for you.

Gore-Eye Daoist

The Gore-Eye Daoist is another optional boss from Chapter Two, and it looks like something out of a book from Bloodborne. Find it by looking at a rope suspension bridge in Sandgate Village.

Black Loong

Black Loong is a challenging side-boss in an optional area. Initially, the road to Black Loong is blocked by a sand trap close to the Rockrest flat Sanctuary. If you the Loong scales (which you enter through a crack in the wall near the First Prince of Flowing Sand boss arena) you can dispel the Sand Trap and fight Black Loong on the other side.

Fuban

Fuban is another side-boss, and killing him will give you an important item: the Wind tamer. This makes the final boss of the area much easier. To reach Fuban, complete the Drunken Pig’s Questline until he opens the gate to a new area.

Yellow Wind Sage

The Yellow Wind Sage is the final boss of Chapter Two and undoubtedly the hardest boss in Black Myth: Wukong so far. He’s unmissable, but you’ll need all the help you can get, including the Wind Tamer, who interrupts him and dispels his whirlwind magic. If you’re struggling, check out our comprehensive boss guide to defeating the Yellow Wind Sage in Black Myth: Wukong.

This guide is a work in progressand we will add more bosses from Black Myth: Wukong’s later chapters, as we encounter them.
