Alex Pereira defeats Jiri Prochazka at UFC 303

Alex Pereira is dominating the UFC in spectacular fashion.

The reigning UFC light heavyweight champion, Pereira has won eight of his nine UFC fights, six of which came by knockout/TKO. His most recent accomplishment was a TKO victory over Jiri Prochazka in the main event of UFC 303. It was the second time he defeated Prochazka, and this time it was a complete domination.

After taking down Prochazka with a left hook near the end of the first round, Pereira opened the second round with a left head kick that effectively ended the fight. After a series of ground and pound punches, Pereira’s hand was raised again.

Prochazka (30-5-1) was trying to regain the undisputed light heavyweight title, a very difficult task. After this loss, it will take him a long time to get another title fight. Incredibly, Pereira (11-2) is powering through his light heavyweight opponents.

Magomed Ankalaev is an option for a light heavyweight title fight, but the logical next step for Pereira is to move up to heavyweight and try to become a three-division UFC champion. Unless a drastic decision is made, Pereira should be the top choice to challenge the winner of the upcoming Tom Aspinall-Curtis Blaydes interim heavyweight title fight at UFC 304.
