Alex Meruelo walks away from Coyotes property

Alex Meruelo is relinquishing ownership of the Arizona Coyotes, casting even more doubt on the future of hockey in the desert.

Meruelo’s son, Alex Jr., told Coyotes staff about the decision on Monday, a person with knowledge of the move told The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the plans have not been made public.
