Alek Thomas’ rehab assignment is paused – MLB News

20 seconds agoArizona Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo said the team has once again suspended minor league outfielder Alek Thomas’ (hamstring) rehab assignment. Lovullo said Thomas is dealing with “general pain,” but added that he remains “very” optimistic that Thomas will return to rehab competitions at the end of this week. “Nothing that’s alarming. I think there’s just normal general soreness that we’re trying to evaluate before we move on to the next level,” Lovullo said. There is also the possibility that Thomas will have more imaging of his left hamstring this week. The D-backs are likely to be cautious with the 24-year-old, who has played just four games this year due to the injury. Even with the latest setback, Thomas still has a chance to return before the All-Star break. However, he is more of a glove-first outfielder and is not very attractive in mixed fantasy leagues.Keith Hernandez – RotoBaller
