Agent unhappy with how Chiefs handled Hlanti’s situation

Sifiso Hlanti’s agent Sizwe Ntshangase has expressed his displeasure over the manner in which Kaizer Chiefs have handled his client’s contractual situation.

This comes after Chiefs released the defender this week following the expiry of his contract with the club.

Ntshangase said this week on Sports Night Amplified with Andile that Chiefs could have informed him and Hlanti earlier that they would not be renewing his contract.

“We reached out to the club to try and find out where they were going with Hlanti and what their thoughts were, but we didn’t get a straight answer,” Ntshangase said.

“The team told Hlanti that he has served them well in the last week of matches this season, but they said they will have to wait for the new coach to come and assess him and make a decision.

“They also said the new coach would assess Hlanti but he didn’t even train and wasn’t seen by any member of the new technical team when Chiefs called him this week to say his contract won’t be renewed,” he added.

Chiefs are reportedly eyeing Stellenbosch FC’s Fawaaz Basadien and Cape Town Spurs’ Rushwin Dortley as potential replacements for Hlanti.
