Against The Storm gets frogs and a new biome in its first expansion this September

Against The Storm already features a zoo full of animal-people to order around as you attempt to build a city that can survive the Blightstorm’s permanent rain. That’s not stopping the new expansion Keepers Of The Stone from adding another. On September 26th, you can welcome the frog-people as you enter a new biome.

Here’s a trailer with the release date:

The new expansion takes place in the Coastal Groves, where settlements are built – you guessed it – along the water. You can build the new Strider Ports and set off on water expeditions on the backs of water warriors.

The expansion also adds new buildings, such as the Pantry, Cannery, and Frog House. The latter are the buildings that frogs live in instead of their normal shelters, and they can be upgraded multiple times to keep frogs happy, with “unique perks” chosen at each level based on the feature list.

September 26th is also the release date for Against The Storm’s update 1.4, which adds a new fishing system along with new requirements, new goods, and other changes, all for free. However, if you want the frogs and the new biome and such, you’ll have to pay for the DLC. There’s no price listed on the Steam page yet.

I haven’t found the time to go back to Against the Storm since it hit 1.0, but it was a blast in Early Access, and apparently a mega-blast upon full release. I’d trust Eremite Games to do something right with an expansion.
