After a cold start to the week, a slight warming trend is taking hold in San Diego County

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) – It was a cold start to the week as lows fell to near record levels in San Diego County this past morning.

On Sunday, Vista reached a low of 36 degrees, beating the previous record for this time of year of 38 degrees set in 2015. The next morning, Ramona tied the lowest minimum temperature record for November 17 at 28 degrees.

A short onshore flow is expected on Monday, with westerly winds becoming stronger in the mountains, especially in the afternoon.

Some low to mid-level clouds will remain over coastal areas Monday afternoon, but the rest of the week will look mostly sunny thanks to the shift to offshore currents. That will push away any clouds.

A weak Santa Ana pattern will warm the province a bit through Tuesday, where it will remain through the end of the work week. Thursday and Friday will probably be the warmest days this week.

Temperatures for Tuesday afternoon will reach the upper 60s for the coast, mid to upper 60s inland, upper 40s for the mountains and low 70s for the deserts.

Wind gusts from the east to northeast are also expected to develop along the mountain slopes on Tuesday, with individual gusts up to 56 kilometers per hour.
