AEW Rampage: Beach Break Live Report 7/5

Welcome to Wrestling Inc.’s live broadcast for “AEW Rampage”: Beach Break on July 5, 2024, from the Wintrust Arena in Chicago, Illinois!

Willow Nightingale’s opponent in the 2024 Women’s Owen Hart Cup Tournament finals this Wednesday on “AEW Dynamite” will be announced tonight, as Mariah May will take on Hikaru Shida in a semifinal match. Not only did Nightingale secure her spot in the finals by defeating former girlfriend Kris Statlander, but May and Shida earned their spots in tonight’s match by defeating Saraya and Deonna Purrazzo, respectively, in the quarterfinals.

As things slowly deteriorate within The Don Callis Family, Kyle Fletcher and Konosuke Takeshita attempt to pick up a victory for the stable by taking on Private Party’s Isiah Kassidy and Marq Quen head-to-head. Following Fletcher’s loss of the Ring of Honor World Television Championship to Atlantis Jr. at CMLL’s Super Viernes event on June 28, AEW International Champion Will Ospreay walked out of the stable last Wednesday after Callis gave him a screwdriver in an attempt to help him dethrone Swerve Strickland as AEW World Champion, which he ultimately did not use.

After falling short against MJF on the June 19 episode of “Dynamite,” Rush looks to redeem himself by returning to action to face Komander. Prior to his loss to MJF, Rush was on a winning streak in AEW, defeating the aforementioned Kasssidy, Cody Chhun, and Deonn Rusman.

In addition, Kyle O’Reilly will compete in a singles match for the first time since the June 26 edition of “Dynamite”, where he will face an as-yet-unknown opponent.
