Actress makes U-turn to pursue sexual harassment complaint against Mukesh, Jayasurya and others

Aluva: The Aluva actress, who had earlier announced that she would withdraw her sexual abuse complaints against seven persons, including prominent actors like Mukesh, Jayasurya, Idavela Babu and Balachandra Menon, has now made an about-face and stated that she will not do the same . Speaking to Mathrubhumi on Sunday, she emphasized that her decision to proceed with the cases was in the interest of justice.

Earlier, the actress had publicly announced her decision to withdraw the complaints on social media due to lack of support from the government. The actress maintained that she remains steadfast in her pursuit of justice.

Regarding the POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses) case filed against her on the basis of a complaint by one of her relative girls, the actress reiterated her innocence saying that she had supported that relative financially and had helped when she was worried about a person. he reportedly followed her with the intention of throwing acid at her. The actress claimed that she was the one who alerted the authorities and protected the girl from him.

A complaint was filed with all relevant authorities requesting a proper investigation into the matter. However, no action was taken, she claimed. The actress stated that there should also have been an investigation into whether anyone she had complained against was involved in the incident. She further explained that she decided to come forward and reveal everything now, after all this time, solely for the good of society. She added that she wished no one else had to endure a similar situation in the future.

On the other hand, according to the minor girl’s statement, the actress took her and her mother to Chennai in 2014 on the pretext of an audition. There the actress allegedly tried to hand the girl over to several people in a hotel. The complaint also accused the actress of having ties to a sex trafficking ring. In response, Muvattupuzha police have filed a case against the actress under the POCSO Act.
