Academy team ready for Dubai futsal challenge

FUTSAL – The Bahrain Futsal Academy will take on some of the best talent from across the region in the Mina Cup Futsal 2024 competition, held in two age categories at the Al Wasl Club Indoor Stadium in Dubai.

The Bahraini team will compete in the under-10 division in Group A of the preliminary round of the event, where they will compete against Ajax Academy (White), Elite Football Academy, IJF Academy, The Futsal Academy and Empire FC.

Group B consists of Ajax Academy (Red), Dubai Irish FC, Al Seeb Club Academy from Oman, Go-Pro Sports, Reds Football Academy and Al Khaleej Football Academy.

There is also an under 12s competition, with a further ten teams from across the region participating. A round-robin will be played in both age categories to determine which teams from each group can best advance to the knockout semi-finals.

The highlight of the competition is that the winners of the under-10s tournament will automatically earn a spot in the European Futsal Cup, which will be held in Strasbourg, Germany, in the last week of January 2025.

The European Futsal Cup is a high-quality indoor football competition that attracts some of the best clubs from across the continent, including Juventus, Olympique Lyonnais and Benfica.

This year’s edition, held in January, saw Arsenal FC beat FC Barcelona 2-0 to win the under-10s title.
