A senior Hong Kong police officer has been suspended after alleged indecent assault

A Hong Kong Police The chief inspector has been suspended after being arrested for indecent assault, the Post has learned.

The 49-year-old officer was arrested in Yuen Long on Tuesday. He was later released on bail and must report next month, a police spokesman said on Wednesday, without giving details.

The officer was suspended, the spokesperson said.

The Hong Kong Island Regional Crime Unit is investigating.

The Post learned that the suspect was Ian Chow Ngai-kong, from the force’s support wing.

A female colleague at the police station in Wan Chai is said to be the victim.
