A look at the Rangers’ Day 2 picks at the 2024 NHL Draft

The Rangers selected defenseman EJ Emery with the 30th overall pick in the first round on Friday night. Here’s a look at the other picks they made on Day 2 of the 2024 NHL Draft on Saturday:

Raoul Boilard

Prepared: Fourth round (119th overall)
Height: 6-foot-1 | Weight: 190 pounds
Position: Center | To shoot: Left
Age: 18
Country: Canada

Made his QMJHL debut last season, scoring 22 goals and 40 assists in 68 games and eight points in 17 playoff games for the Baie-Comeau Drakkar.

Described himself as a defensive center with offensive qualities who can make plays, is strong in the forecheck and in faceoffs.

Rangers moved up and selected him, trading their 127th pick on Saturday and their 2026 seventh-round pick to the Predators.

Nathan Aspinall

Prepared: Fifth round (159th overall)
Height: 2.01 meters | Weight: 190 pounds
Position: Left | To shoot: Left
Born: 18
Country: Canada

After his second season in the Ontario Hockey League, Aspinall set personal bests in goals (18), assists (16), points (34) and games played (65).

A large-bodied attacker who has a strong presence in goal and playmaking qualities.

Plays for the Flint Firebirds, the same team Brennan Othmann played for from 2019-2023.

Rico Gredig

Prepared: Sixth round (191st overall)
Height: 6-foot-1 | Weight: 179 pounds
Position: Left wing/middle | To shoot: Left
Age: 19
Country: Switzerland

Gredig has spent the past two seasons in the Swiss Elite Junior League with Davos U20, scoring a combined 13 goals and 21 assists in 42 games. He is expected to return for the 2024-25 season.

He provided one assist in five games for Switzerland at the 2024 Under-20 Junior World Cup.

Gredig made his National League debut last season and recorded two goals, two assists and six penalty minutes in 28 games.
