What’s the story

India’s Hardik Pandya has been crowned the best all-rounder in the latest ICC T20I player rankings.

Hardik was rewarded for his remarkable performance in the recently concluded ICC T20 World Cup 2024.

He won the match with three victories as India defeated South Africa to claim the title. This was his 100th T20I appearance.

These are the Indian players who have played more than 100 T20Is.

Rohit Sharma: 159 matches

Rohit Sharma retired from T20I cricket after leading India to the 2024 T20 World Cup title.

Rohit made his T20I debut during the inaugural T20 World Cup in 2007.

Rohit is the only player so far with more than 150 appearances in the shortest format (159).

He retired with the most runs ever made by a player in this format (4,231).

Virat Kohli: 125 matches

Virat Kohli follows Rohit with 125 appearances in the format. He also hung up his boots alongside Rohit.

The former Indian captain amassed 4,188 runs at an average of 48.69. His total included a strike-rate of 137.07. Only Rohit has more runs in this format.

Kohli made a total of 39 scores of more than fifty (one century), the most for a batsman in this format, along with Pakistan’s Babar Azam.

Hardik Pandya: 100 Matches

In the final of the 2024 T20 World Cup, Hardik became the third Indian to make 100 appearances in T20I cricket.

Notably, former wicketkeeper-batter Mahendra Singh Dhoni is the only other Indian with more than 90 (98) T20I appearances.

Hardik has amassed 1,492 runs and taken 84 wickets in the shortest format so far. His tally includes three four-wicket hauls.

Hardik took 3/20 against South Africa, now the fourth best bowling figure in the T20 World Cup final. This is the best bowling result by an Indian in this regard. He successfully defended 15 runs in the last over.
