Mondays are a bit of a drag unless you can score a gaming bargain to make yourself think, hey, this wasn’t so bad after all. I have a bunch of discounts to go with this (smaller) amount. Personally, and after watching Luke Reilly’s recap on Stranger games, then I would go for that 42% discount Aliens: Dark Descent. A criminally underrated gem that perfectly captures the survival horror factor of Jim Cameron’s great action film.

In retro news: I baked a large cake with 15 shapes for Shadow Complexa Metroidvania that broke XBLA sales records. Built by Chair Entertainment, a developer that would later make the (sadly delisted) Infinity Blade trilogy, this 2.5D game drew me in with its “suspiciously well-trained walkers discover a black site” plot. Basically, it had a rock-solid gunplay, a nice smattering of OP power-ups/stronger enemies, and a decent runtime for the low, low asking price. For science, I bought and played Shadow Complex Remastered on the weekend – still great and worth the money.
