Tom Cruise Olympic stunt sees Top Gun star pass the torch by diving into crowd of Olympians

Tom Cruise made a special appearance at the closing ceremony of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris to perform a spectacular stunt.

The feat saw the action film star leap from the top of the Stade de France into a crowd of Olympians. After being greeted by the world’s best athletes, gymnast Simone Biles handed him the flag so it could be transported to the home of the 2028 Olympics: Los Angeles. Cruise then took off on his motorcycle, flag in hand, leading to a pre-recorded segment in which he rides through Paris and jumps out of a plane before ending his world tour at the Hollywood sign in California.

It was a moment that seemed straight out of a Mission Impossible movie. Artist HER even helped channel the action movie vibes by featuring Cruise with music from the film.

Cruise’s stunt during the Olympic closing ceremony became one of the most anticipated events of the Olympics after reports a few weeks ago suggested he would be involved in the show. Few details were shared at the time about what the stunt would entail, so it’s no surprise that the actor would show up with something truly mind-boggling today. However, the Top Gun star wasn’t the only celebrity helping to pass the torch to the upcoming 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles. California-based artists Billie Eilish, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Snoop Dogg also put on performances to welcome the world to the next summer games.

The Paris 2024 Olympic Games are over, but they left us with highlights that we will cherish for years to come.
