Justin Fields made his pre-season debut for the Pittsburgh Steelers in a night to forget.

The former Chicago Bears quarterback, who was traded in the offseason, had some positive moments, completing five of his six passes for 67 yards. He even started the night by completing all three of his passes for 37 yards.

But even then his good moments were overshadowed by a handful of mistakes, including two sacks for 15 yards and three snaps he wasted, all in a period when he saw limited playing time.

If the first reading is not for Justin Fields, #Texans The defense line is there quickly.
After Fields stepped down, two resignations followed.

While this is only Fields’ first practice game, it’s clear there are still a lot of issues to be resolved before he can lead the Steelers.

Fortunately for Pittsburgh fans, Fields isn’t the only option to be the team’s starting quarterback. The Steelers will likely have Russell Wilson as their starter at the beginning of the season, and they’re hoping he can continue to be productive when he suits up for a new team.

Fields still has a lot of potential, but he’s far from a star-caliber quarterback. Last year, Fields had 2,562 passing yards, 16 touchdowns and nine interceptions in 13 games, and he also added 657 yards and four touchdowns on the ground. If he can fix some of the flaws that held him back early in his career, he could be a special player.
