In general, it’s not a good idea to skip the holidays.

Jrue Holiday recently won a title with the Boston Celtics in his 15th season, Aaron has worked his way to solid backup status in six years, and Justin remains a consideration even after a dozen seasons as a three-and-D winger.

Holiday played 58 games for the Denver Nuggets last year, shot 40.4 percent from distance and averaged 2.1 steals per 100 possessions. Only 11 other players meet that criteria in 2023-24. A few are perennial All-Stars and the rest are on multi-year contracts.

Age is a factor, as the 6’6″ winger is already 35. But Holiday’s per-minute production has been remarkably consistent over the years, with fluctuations in playing time the only real variable in his final-year averages.

Better yet, the veteran has maintained his defensive impact as he ages. Holiday has been rated as a positive on-off defensive piece in eight of the 10 seasons (including last year) tracked by the Dunks and Threes’ DEPM metric.

Give him the eighth or ninth man role and Holiday will provide reliable shooting and solid defense in the right place at the right time for 15 minutes per game.
