Everything You Need to Know About Our 2024 US Tour | Feature | News

After visiting the city in 2016, 2019 and 2023, our men’s team returns to Los Angeles this pre-season. The second largest city in the US after New York, is full of beautiful beaches, is home to Hollywood and will host the 2028 Olympic Games.

Things to do

Head to Universal Studios for a ton of roller coasters, explore The Wizarding World of Harry Potter or Super Nintendo World and take a studio tour to see where the latest blockbusters are filmed and see classic sets – something that is also offered at Warner Bros. Studio.

The view of the city from Griffith Observatory is breathtaking, especially at night. You can also go to the shoreline of Venice Beach or visit the Santa Monica Pier.

Magnolia Park in Burbank is a street you can stroll along with some cool shops and coffee shops, or you can stretch your legs around Old Zoo in Griffith Park to see a cool piece of history. Speaking of history, the Hollywood Walk of Fame is where icons of the screen and stage are immortalized.

If you’re up for a gamble, Santa Anita hosts horse racing on select Fridays and Saturdays, while music fans will want to head to the world’s largest independent record store, Amoeba Music. If you’re up for a nighttime show, laugh your head off at the Comedy Store or Laugh Factory.

A visit to Porto’s Bakery is a must, and if you’re hungry you can also try Ca De Sole for a nice Italian dinner, or Sushi Row on Ventura Blvd has one of the highest concentrations of sushi restaurants outside of Japan. Ozzy’s Apizza in Glendale is one of the best pizza places around and is co-owned by a Gooner! Wash down whatever you choose with a cocktail at Black Market Liquor Bar.

The stadiums

Our tour starts at Dignity Health Sports Park, home of MLS team LA Galaxy. It is located in the city of Carson, 14 miles south of downtown LA and was built in 2003. It has a capacity of 27,000, making it the second largest soccer stadium in the US.

It has hosted six MLS Cup finals, as well as the 2003 Women’s World Cup final, and is regularly used by the U.S. women’s national team. It will host rugby matches at the 2028 Olympic Games and was the temporary home of the NFL’s LA Chargers between 2017 and 2019.

Then we head to the familiar surroundings of SoFi Stadium to take on Manchester United, where the Chargers and LA Rams play their home games. The stadium is located in the city of Inglewood, 10.5 miles from downtown LA, and was built in 2020. It has a capacity of 70,240.

The impressive structure consists of a permanent roof and a huge oval screen hanging above the pitch, weighing more than 1,000 tonnes.

Having already hosted the 2022 Super Bowl, matches at this year’s Copa America and the 2023 CONCACAF Gold Cup final, it will host eight matches at the 2026 World Cup, another Super Bowl in 2027 and soccer matches at the Olympic Games the following year. The venue was also where we defeated Barcelona 5-3 in a friendly during our 2023 tour of the United States.
