Great excitement ahead of second Hockey India Junior West Zone Championship!

The second Hockey India Junior Men and Women West Zone Championship is all set to be an exciting contest from July 21 to 28 at Rajnandgaon, Chhattisgarh.

In the women’s category, teams will be divided into two pools: Pool A will include Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Gujarat, while Pool B will include Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Goa and Dadra and Nagar Haveli & Daman and Diu. The round-robin format will determine the top two teams from each pool that will advance to the semi-finals.

The men’s competition has six teams in one pool: Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Rajasthan and Goa. The top two teams will advance to the finals and the third and fourth placed teams will compete for the third position.

Highlighting the importance of this championship for player development, Hockey India President Dilip Tirkey said, ”It provides a great platform for young players to showcase their skills and gain significant experience.” General Secretary Bhola Nath Singh added, ”Our aim is to nurture the junior players and give them the best possible exposure. Competitions like this are crucial to build confidence and prepare them for higher levels of the sport.”

The tournament opener will see Madhya Pradesh take on Goa, while Rajasthan will take on Dadra and Nagar Haveli & Daman and Diu in the women’s category. For the men’s category, Madhya Pradesh will take on Goa, Rajasthan will battle Gujarat and Maharashtra will challenge Chhattisgarh.
