Russell Westbrook’s Nuggets signing has Terance Mann thinking about him

Russell Westbrook’s move to the Denver Nuggets is all but official after the 35-year-old recently opted out of his contract with the Utah Jazz. Now a free agent, his time with the LA Clippers has officially come to an end, a period that was not only fun for fans, but one in which he apparently had a huge impact on his former teammate, Terance Mann.

Mann recently took to his Instagram Story to celebrate the veteran who took him under his wing during their time together. However, he didn’t do so through praise or anecdotes from their time together. Instead, he simply shared two photos of him and Westbrook partying together.

The photos seem to capture their relationship perfectly. The two seem to be in love with each other in both photos, while celebrating it in the most hyped way. This probably makes these photos very dear to him.

Mann had also spoken about the impact that Brodie had on his career during an appearance on Podcast P, where he said to Paul George:

“It was crazy for me, just because I saw him a lot growing up. So I was just a huge fan. I still follow OKC (Thunder) on Facebook… So it’s just crazy to be on the same team as him. Great teammate, as I remember our first or second game together. He got subbed, and he stood up and coached me the whole second quarter, never sat down once… I just have the utmost respect for him.”

It was probably more than a little disheartening for Mann when he found out that Russell Westbrook would no longer be his teammate. However, the lessons he learned will resonate louder now than ever before. Russian would tell him that the best way to honor their time together would be to use what he learned to become one of the best players in the NBA.

Russell Westbrook Makes the Denver Nuggets Better

Russell Westbrook is of course far from the player he was during his prime in the NBA. As a reserve point guard, however, he is one of the best players a team can have.

With the Denver Nuggets letting go of Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, they needed to fill the void they had at that position. And in Westbrook, the team now has one who plays incredibly hard on both ends. What’s more, the former Clippers man is an incredible court general, able to find the right pass or create pressure on the rim himself with the driving lanes he finds.

Those are the most notable features of his game, though. Something many may not have noticed is that Westbrook is also slowly becoming a player who can make the occasional three-pointer. While he’s far from great in the category, shooting just 30.4% from distance last season, he’s shot 37-39% from behind the arc for months.

This adds another dimension to his game, something that only makes him more attractive to the Denver Nuggets. All Russell Westbrook has to do now is make an appearance for the franchise next season.
