British men are dying too young. Can cycling to work save me?

OOn a rainy morning I look out the window and feel terrified. Can I still cycle to work? Probably not. A little rain is okay, but this is pouring rain. I have to take the subway. But the subway is hot and crowded and I am pushed against the side of the carriage, which hurts my neck. It is stuffy and smelly and then the train comes to a stop. “Excuse me, ladies and gentlemen, we have to wait for a red signal here.” What a miserable way to start the day.
