You can now watch the beginning of Cobra Kai Season 6

Buckle up, people… Cobra Kai is about to get serious. Season 6 is just a few days away, but you can watch the first eight minutes now.

If you haven’t watched the series yet, don’t panic: Cobra Kai Season 6 is being released over the summer. That means Netflix won’t be releasing the first episode until July 18.

It’s not all disappointing news, though. In preparation for new episodes, the streaming service has quietly dropped the first eight minutes of season 6, which you can watch for yourself here.

As we know, Cobra Kai Season 6 will continue with members of the rival dojos—both old and fallen—as they attempt to live in harmony. In our preview clip, the sensei and the students seem to be getting along well… but that doesn’t mean the peace will last forever.

Miguel (Xolo Maridueña), Robby (Tanner Buchanan) and other students are training for the Sekai Taikai, and the stakes are incredibly high. Daniel tells his wife Amanda (Courtney Henggeler) that this will be the end of his full-time sensei duties, calling it his “karate swan song.”

Speaking to Netflix, actor Ralph Macchio explained: “It’s a time of peace in the valley. Everyone feels like a chapter has closed and we can look forward to working together to create the best Sekai Taikai experience for our students.”

“Silver is in prison, everyone’s eyes are open to the deception that’s taken place, and the Big Bad is out of the way,” William Zabka agrees.

“The opening of season 6 is a result of that. It’s the day after the storm, the sun is shining and everyone is back on track. School is in session and life goes on.”

The peacetime references aren’t just a joke, they’re an official Cobra Kai Easter egg. The preview clip is from episode 1, which is called “Peacetime in the Valley.”

For now, things look rosy, but series co-creator Josh Heald hints that danger is looming.

“Sensei Kreese (Martin Kove) teams up with Kim Da-Eun (Alicia Hannah-Kim) to set up a dojo of Korean fighters raised in the image of Cobra Kai,” Heald says. “Be careful, because on the other side of the world, dark forces are brewing.”

The Season 6 trailer also previously announced the arrival of the iconic Karate Kid villain… which wasn’t a given for anyone. Fans will have to wait until July 18 to find out what that could mean for the show’s farewell.

In the meantime, here’s a list of the best new TV shows streaming this month, as well as new movies streaming.
