Gordon Ramsay teases he’s back on his bike

Gordon Ramsay has revealed he has recently gotten back on his bike, just weeks after it was revealed he suffered bruises in a “really bad accident” abroad last month.

The chef, 57, revealed in June that he was “a little bruised” after a “really bad accident” while cycling in the US. Gordon showed bruising on one side of his body and urged cyclists to make sure they wear a helmet.

He has since announced that he is back on his bike following the incident. Gordon shared the news with fans on Instagram over the weekend, telling his followers in a post from a few days ago that it was “so good to be back on the bike.”

It featured footage of Gordon – who is known for shows such as Hell’s Kitchen – out for a bike ride in the countryside with his son Oscar, five. Gordon teased that he had also recently been on an exercise bike when he was apparently back in the UK.

The first clip showed Gordon cheering Oscar on as they rode bikes together. At one point, Gordon asked him, “Helmet on. Gears intact, yeah? Eyes on the road, yeah?” After his son agreed, he added, “Good.” Gordon had Oscar riding his bike down a path and then turned the camera around to show himself as well. He told viewers, “So good to be back on a bike.” Moments later, he was heard telling his son, seen in front of him, to “slow down.”

The post also included a clip of him showing off an indoor bike from cycling app brand Zwift. Gordon was heard in the footage saying: “Back on the bike – can’t wait. Look at this beauty.” He added: “Now it’s time to get on and get moving, fingers crossed this ride is a lot safer.”

In addition to the two videos and a few photos of Oscar that were included in the recent post, Gordon wrote in the caption: “So good to be back on the bike. Thanks (Zwift) – great piece of equipment and fantastic for recovery and bad weather.”

Gordon announced last month that he had suffered a “serious accident” while cycling in Connecticut. He said in a video: “I want to share a very important message with you guys. You know how much I love cycling (…) Unfortunately, I had a very serious accident this week and it really shook me up, and honestly, I’m lucky to be here. (…) You have to wear a helmet – I don’t care how short the trip is.”
