Fabio Jakobsen quits Tour de France

Fabio Jakobsen ran into trouble early in the twelfth stage of the Tour de France and rode alone with the broom wagon for a while, but after a while he got off the bike.

“Tough times never last long, but strong people do,” the DSM-firmenich PostNL team posted on social media.

“After a fast and climbing #TDF2024, Fabio Jakobsen has to abandon the Tour because he doesn’t feel 100%.

It is not yet clear when we will see Jakobsen in a race again. The Dutchman had made the Giro d’Italia and the Tour de France a big goal this year, but both races were disappointing. In both Italy and France he had to give up early and did not win a single stage.
