Renato Moicano backs Conor McGregor vs. Nate Diaz for next UFC fight: “Chandler, don’t worry, my brother”

Touted as the biggest fight of the year, Conor McGregor vs. Michael Chandler seems to be slowly fading into obscurity. With Nate Diaz defeating Jorge Masvidal in last week’s 10-rounder, talk of a Diaz vs. McGregor trilogy is back on the table. In a similar vein, fellow lightweight Renato Moicano took on Michael Chandler.

The Brazilian claimed that given Diaz’s boxing performance against Jorge Masvidal, it is more likely that the Stockton Slugger will win the money match ahead of Chandler.

(Conor) McGregor. McGregor is the fight to make, everybody knows that, right? Am I wrong? Right away, 39-year-old brother, right away! We ask Chandler to wait for the next fight. Hey, Chandler, don’t worry, my brother, we’ll make you wait for the Diaz, and then it’ll be your turn.”

Last month, ‘The Notorious’ McGregor was set to return to Vegas’ T-Mobile Arena in a 5-round welterweight banger. The hype for the bout was huge, but an unprecedented last-minute withdrawal from the Irishman left fans furious.

Despite the bleak fallout from UFC 303, a fight Chandler had been waiting a year for, the former Bellator champion isn’t letting McGregor off the hook. That said, he has also criticized lightweight champion Islam Makhachev; the latter is, of course, the funniest Dagestani on the planet and has given the American a good burn.

But despite this criticism, Chandler really hopes the fight with McGregor goes ahead so he can be safe for the rest of his life.

However, Moicano believes that fans who want to see an exciting match between the Stockton player and the Irishman will be given priority.

Recently, Conor’s arch-rival and arch-nemesis, Dustin Poirier, also shared his thoughts on the superstar’s sudden cancellation of the fight.

Poirier criticizes Conor McGregor ahead of UFC 303 – “Doesn’t seem like a reason to pull out of a fight”

Dustin ‘The Diamond’ Poirier was the last man Conor McGregor saw before he broke his shin bone mid-fight and was no longer fit to fight. Although the referee gave Poirier the win, the 35-year-old McGregor wasn’t done yet. He continued his tirade and personal attacks in what appeared to be an attempt to win a fight.

But at this point, that’s pretty much out of the question, as Poirier hasn’t denied anything further on the matter. However, reflecting on the Irishman’s withdrawal from UFC 303, Poirier told The MMA Hour:

Dude, a pinky toe? It’s like I’ve fought with so many injuries. Like Conor (McGregor) said, he’s fought with a lot of injuries that he doesn’t want to – I’ve fought with a lot of injuries over the years, but a pinky toe doesn’t seem like a reason to pull out of a fight, you know? But I don’t know – like give him his respect, I don’t know how serious it is either.”
