Maa Tujhe Salam: Team India Vibing On AR Rahman’s Vande Matram Will Give You Goosebumps | WATCH

Remember the scenes of the 2011 World Cup final when India were on the verge of a historic victory over Sri Lanka and the 30,000-plus crowd at the Wankhede Stadium sang AR Rahman’s famous patriotic song:My dear Salam‘ in unison? Well, it was recreated on Thursday night as Rohit Sharma’s Team India were feted at the iconic venue for being crowned T20 World Champions.

The men in blue arrived in Mumbai on Thursday with the trophy and took out a victory parade on the packed streets of the city. Later, a packed Wankhede welcomed them and Rohit Sharma and Co were presented with a prize money of Rs 125 crore by the BCCI. After the presentation, the World Cup-winning Indian team took a lap of honour around the field while grooving to the tunes of the song, ‘From Mataram‘.

It was a totally different atmosphere. Kohli and Pandya led the charge, while the entire team followed. They all felt the mood and sang the song along with the crowd before heading to the dressing room.
