Canada can be competitive with modest investments

For Nathan Bombrys, Saturday night’s Test in Ottawa will be a meeting of past and present, but what really gets this ambitious 49-year-old thinking is fantasizing about the future.

The Michigan native, a former general manager of the Glasgow Warriors who also held senior commercial roles within the Scottish Rugby Union, has been CEO of Rugby Canada for the past two years.

It’s fair to say that this was a tumultuous period, especially at the top end of men’s soccer. It was a period that saw the Canucks dealing with the fallout from their previous failure to qualify for the World Cup for the first time, amid a glaring lack of significant games, and the collapse of the professional Toronto Arrows.
