Florida Lacrosse Kaitlyn Davies US Women’s U20 National Team Selection

Florida State Lacrosse midfielder Kaitlyn Davies is one of 22 players selected to represent the United States at the 2024 Under-20 Women’s Lacrosse World Championship, head coach Kelly Amonte Hiller announced Tuesday.

The final roster was narrowed down after a three-day training camp of 32 qualified women’s lacrosse players at USA Lacrosse’s headquarters in Sparks, Maryland. The team’s next training camp will be held at Northwestern University from July 18-20 before a final short camp in Northern California in August.

The 2024 Women’s U20 World Lacrosse Championship will take place in Hong Kong from August 15 to 24.

“I couldn’t be more excited about the selection of our U20 national team going into the World Championships in Hong Kong,” said Amonte Hiller. “We have selected a group of 22 incredibly talented young women who work extremely well together.

“This is an exciting time for USA Lacrosse and we are so grateful that this group has the opportunity to wear the red, white and blue and compete in this extraordinary tournament.”

Davies, a rising junior at UF, was a Second Team All-AAC selection, and an IWLCA All-Region Second Team performer last season for the Gators. She played in 22 games, starting 21, totaling one goal, 13 ground balls, eight caused turnovers and 15 draw controls, helping anchor the nation’s seventh-best scoring defense.
