One dead after crashing into a telephone pole

PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP) – A 20-year-old is dead after hitting a telephone pole.

Crews responded to a crash on the 2400 block of Gihon Road with one entrapment.

This morning at 8:09 am a report came in that a car had crashed into a telephone pole.

When emergency services arrived on the scene, the car was upside down, with the telephone pole on top.

The crash resulted in one fatality of a 20-year-old Wilson Noel of Parkersburg.

According to Wood County 911 Dispatch, a witness stated they saw the vehicle speeding before it hit the pole.

Parkersburg Police and Fire responded to the scene, including the Crash Team, St. Joseph’s Ambulance Service and Camden Clark Ambulance Service.
