Defense Secretary John Healey stands face to face with MPs as Ukraine fires British missiles at Russia for the first time

Watch live as Defense Secretary John Healey faces MPs on Thursday (21 November) as Ukraine fired British missiles at Russia for the first time.

The A British-made missile – which Kiev has lobbied for to use beyond Russian borders for months – was fired on Russia on Wednesday, with images published by Russian military bloggers claiming to show Storm Shadow fragments in Russia’s Kursk region, beyond Ukraine’s northeastern border.

Meanwhile, Russia launched an intercontinental ballistic missile from the Astrakhan region in a morning attack today, the Ukrainian Air Force said.

The Ukrainian military also said it shot down six Kh-101 cruise missiles launched by Russia during the attack.

The Russian attack targeted businesses and critical infrastructure in the central-eastern city of Dnipro, the air force said, at a time of escalating moves in the 33-month-old war Russia launched in Ukraine.

The statement did not make it clear what the intercontinental ballistic missile was targeting or whether it caused any damage.

The missiles have a range of thousands of kilometers and can be used to deliver nuclear warheads, but they can also be conventional warheads.
