Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi considers Mehdi Taremi over Lautaro Martinez against Hellas Verona

Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi could turn to Mehdi Taremi to lead the attack in the upcoming Serie A match against Hellas Verona with Lautaro Martinez missing.

As reported today in the newspaper edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport and via FCInter1908.it, the Iranian international may get a starting place on Saturday for the trip to the Stadio Marcantonio Bentegodi, in the first league match after the international break.

Martinez only returns from international duty with Argentina on Thursday and is likely to feature late on Tuesday night as the 2022 World Cup winners face Peru, so his physical condition will be assessed upon his return.

The former Racing Club forward had seen a dip in form but scored for Argentina against Paraguay last time out and it is hoped his confidence has now been rekindled.

However, with only two training sessions left before the match against Verona, Martinez can rest easy and Inzaghi will instead give summer signing Taremi the chance to impress.
