Local Appreciation: National Parks and Recreation Month

Presentation without title 83

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Throughout the month of July, Bowling Green City Council will recognize local park systems for National Park and Recreation Month.

Since 1985, Americans have honored those who build safe and active communities with the National Recreation and Park Association. The work of recreation professionals and the maintenance of local parks is recognized.

Parks and recreation are important to any city to make it an enjoyable or inclusive space. Employees, part-time workers, volunteers and seasonal workers are also celebrated.

“It’s time to show our appreciation for our parks and recreation professionals who work hard every day, all year long, to make our parks system a great place for everyone to enjoy,” the City of Bowling Green said on Facebook .

On July 1, employees of the Russell Sims Aquatic Center posted a message of appreciation on the city’s Facebook page.

“Thank you to everyone who works at the Russell Sims Aquatic Center all summer to create a refreshing, fun oasis for all ages to enjoy,” the post read.
