Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Rohit Sharma for leading India to T20 World Cup victory at Kensington Oval Barbados. The Men In Blue defeated South Africa by seven runs to end their long wait for an ICC World Cup title.

Rohit Sharma decided to bat first and riding on Virat Kohli’s 76 runs, India posted 176 runs on the board. Heinrich Klaasen and David Miller threatened to steal the match but Hardik Pandya held his nerve and guided his team to a historic victory.

Praising Rohit Sharma PM Modi posted on X,

“You are the epitome of excellence. Your aggressive mindset, batting and captaincy have brought a new dimension to the Indian team. Your T20 career will be fondly remembered. Glad to have spoken to you earlier today.”
