Brianna Myers: Tributes flow for Bega mother with ‘heart of gold’ killed in motorbike crash in Wolumla

Brianna Myers is being remembered as an “amazing” wife and mother with a “heart of gold” after she died in a horrific motorcycle accident on the NSW south coast earlier this month.

Brianna Myers, 34, was riding her motorcycle when it collided with a car at the junction of Cherry Lane and the Princes Highway at Wolumla, about 18km south of Bega.

Emergency services were called to Old Mill Road, the other side of the intersection, at around 1pm on Sunday, October 13, following reports of a two-vehicle crash.

Mrs. Myers died at the scene.

Her six-year-old son, Charlie, was sitting in the passenger seat behind his mother at the time of the crash. He was treated by NSW Ambulance for non-life-threatening injuries before being flown to Sydney Children’s Hospital in a stable condition.

The driver of the car – a 28-year-old woman – was treated for shock before being taken to South East Regional Hospital, Bega, for mandatory tests.

The Princes Highway was closed in both directions for several hours after the crash so police could establish a crime scene and investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Tributes have been paid to the 34-year-old mother of four, whose tragic death left her husband Chris a widower.

Family friend Brooke Hume created a GoFundMe to raise money for the Myers family.

Ms Hume said she hoped the community could reach its fundraising target of $10,000. The campaign has already raised $3,415 for the Myers.

Mrs Myers was a trained chef and worked at Bub’s Early Learning Center in Bega; The center’s owner, Bianca Ritchie, said staff were in shock after the sudden death of their colleague.

Speaking to The South Coast Daily News, she said Mrs Myers, a family friend, would be “deeply” missed.

“We just couldn’t believe it; we still don’t believe it,” Ms Ritchie said.

She said the 34-year-old had a ‘heart of gold’ and first enrolled her children at the center before becoming head chef.

“You could tell she loved her children and all the children here so much.”

Another woman who worked with Ms. Myers at the center described her as a “friend to everyone” who “went above and beyond for everyone who knew her.”
