Windy today, windy and colder tonight and tomorrow

LAS VEGAS – Thursday afternoon will bring wind gusts of 30 mph from the southwest, highs in the low 80s, and mostly sunny skies. The winds will become even stronger tonight as a cold front moves through, bringing gusts of 55 to 60 mph from the northwest as temperatures drop into the 50s. There is a 10% chance of showers in Las Vegas tonight and tomorrow morning, but most of the moisture is focused on Utah, so the chance is 70% in Mesquite and 90% in St. George, Utah. Northerly winds of 20-40 mph Friday morning will make temperatures feel jacket-worthy in the upper 50s. North winds at 20-35 mph Friday afternoon will keep highs in the upper 60s feeling cool, although skies will look mostly sunny. North winds will stick around Friday evening and late Saturday morning at 15 to 25 mph, making lows in the 50s feel even colder. Saturday we’ll see wind gusts of 25 mph in the morning drop to 15 mph in the afternoon, and sunshine will help lift afternoon highs into the low 70s. Calm and clear and cold Saturday night, with lows in the low 50s at sunrise Sunday. Sunday looks great: sunshine with afternoon highs in the mid 70s and calm conditions. Next week we will warm back up to the low 80s, although nights and early mornings will remain cold in the upper 50s to near 60°.
