Parking action by parents after student hit by car in Houlton

Another parent, Charmaine Curtis, said it could be “scary” crossing the street outside the school.

“It amazes me how they built this school and didn’t put a single crosswalk or any of the zigzags in the front to keep people from parking,” she said.

“It’s always been an accident waiting to happen.”

Headteacher Andy Taylor on Wednesday pleaded for parents to “think of others” as they drop their children off.

“We would really appreciate it if the developers or the municipality came together to install some really robust safety measures,” he said

‘It’s really frustrating to think that things can be done.

“We are just very concerned that action is taken as quickly as possible now so that no more accidents can happen out there.”
